Pseudogynecomastia is usually seen in overweight patients. Rather than a glandular cause, these patients usually have fatty tissue that secretes estrogen, resulting in enlarged breasts. It is not usually enough to perform liposuction alone because the gland must be removed to prevent recurrence of the enlarged breasts. Patients with psuedogynecomastia are asked to be on a diet and exercise regime prior to surgery. If the weight loss results are not satisfactory, surgery can then be performed. In our experience, surgery can be a motivator, for after patients have their pseudogynecomastia removed, many continue with a diet and exercise program to further improve their physique and health.
The following pseudogynecomastia before-and-after photos will give you a sense of the results Dr. Blau has achieved in gynecomastia surgery. However, each patient is unique and previous results are not a guarantee for individual outcomes.
