While minor asymmetry of the breasts is normal in both men and women, if the asymmetry is noticeable, it can cause considerable problems with self-esteem, especially in men. The asymmetry can be a difference in size, shape, nipple and areola position, or all of the above. In a man, these differences can be quite conspicuous and men who suffer from this condition frequently struggle with self-esteem issues and social anxiety. Depending on the severity of the asymmetry, surgical correction may involve one or both breasts. Patients are greatly relieved to have this deformity corrected and their social inhibitions usually vanish completely.
The following before-and-after photos will give you a sense of the results Dr. Blau has achieved performing surgical corrections of asymmetric gynecomastia. However, each patient is unique and previous results are not a guarantee for individual outcomes.
